Also, I either have the wrong charger or the battery is defective because it won't charge. I have to keep the charger connected to use it.

When I hover the mouse over the battery icon it reads, "27% available (plugged in, not charging)." I believe that's 5 problems I have found on the first day. I can only imagine what one month will bring me. There's also quite a bit of cosmetic damage.

I can live with that, just saying. I thought that's what the discount was for.

I got an Alienware m14x today from the Rent-A-Center in Fort Valley, Ga today. It was a little sketchy because they had me waiting for the computer to reset to factory settings and actually sent me home with it resetting, saying that I couldn't close the computer or it would corrupt the hard drive.

I let it go because I try to stay positive. After I got home and the computer finished resetting the screen started flashing occasionally, the touchpad was extremely glitchy and the disc drive doesn't work at all. Aren't the employees supposed to check a product before they sell it? I forgot to mention before that it is used but these things are quite basic and can be noticed within using this laptop for just a few minutes.

I intend to buy this laptop in the long run and would like a new one. They did discount it a little bit but I wouldn't mind paying a little bit more for the brand new product. Is there any way to just send this one in and get a new one?

I don't want to be one of the frustrated customers who have been raging on these websites. I just want what I pay for.

Reason of review: Good customer service.

Rent A Center Cons: Neglected to inspect item before resale.

Location: Fort Valley, Georgia

Go to the Better Business Bureau website and put your complaint in there and tell them what you would like RAC to do. I had the same problem with an XBOX.

The BBB got RAC to buy me a brand new game that the XBOX destroyed and take back the used XBOX and sell me a new one with a discount. Hope this helps.

*** rent a center I would pay one time and say *** them it's not criminal or theft it's all civil look on your states public record sites it's all civil cases none criminal the most they could do is get a Replevin that allows them too enter your house with Police but if the *** is not in there at the time there assed out!!! That's what I did! You could be charged with contempt of court if they find out its in there afterwards #civil

Right...so then if you have a job they garnish your wages. And your credit gets trashed. Great plan.

Hello! I work for RAC!

Weโ€™d definitely like to see if thereโ€™s anything we can do to help. We know how important our computers are, and we want to make sure those glitches get aired out. Please give us a call at 1-80*-***-**** so we can discuss and make sure this gets addressed.

We never want you to feel this way! Thanks!

I work at RAC, any product that stores personal information such as cell phones, laptops/tablets, smart tvs, etc.. should be sent to service so they can be restored to factory settings before being put out on display for the customers.

A lot of RAC stores employees dont follow the procedure because of laziness. In my store, I tell the store mgr and credit mgr but regarding this issue, their answer is always the same. Just put it on display and if it gets sold/rent it, we'll do the reset ourselves while we do the verification. One of the main reason that's done is because store mgrs have a monthly budget for the store.

Example: if their budget is $3000 and they only spent $1200 in the month, the store mgr gets what's left as a bonus.

In your case, the store mgr didn't wanted to spend money on repairing your Alienware laptop and getting the correct charger because wanted the bonus to be bigger.

I got one from ansonia ct. Wrong charger was replaced same day and still says its on battery not charging all the time but it charges regardless.

Comp is junk for next gen but on low/mid settings works well.

Been over a year still gaming strong every day. Just ask for help at rent a center they have to help :)
